Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. - Buddha
As a gay man, I want to address on Snow Lion Spirit the importance of LGBT spirituality, and the contribution we can make as LGBT people. I hope you will find on this page, something useful for your spiritual journey. You are precious in God's eyes.

The spiritual journey of LGBT individuals is both unique, and ubiquitous. Like so many of our spiritual co-evolutionaries, we were forced from our original religious/spiritual homes, sometimes literally, and sometimes out of a radical sense of self preservation.
Many of us, rejected by our blood families for who we are, as LGBT people, have formed our own families, composed of our dearest friends, and like minded spiritual travelers.
I am continually amazed, that out of the experiences of brutality, fear, rejection, and suffering, that many, if not most of us, have experienced comes something beautiful and strong.
From the shattering of ILLUSIONS we have experienced comes the cherished opportunity to see ourselves as we are, and the world for what it can be - a place of hope, love, and belonging. We, as LGBT people can be agents of compassion and spiritual insight.
The greatest spiritual teachers, in all traditions, have tried to show humankind that love and compassion are the only things that matter in the realm of the spirit, but their teachings were all too often profoundly misunderstood.
You, as an LGBT person, are part of the greater consciousness that is the Source of Energy and Compassion, and the Unity of All Things. You as an LGBT person are part of the growing evolution of humankind toward a new spiritual reality, and a new earth.
As you embrace new spiritual traditions, or create a personal spirituality of your own, you may find that being an LGBT individual, may still pose unique questions, that you will need to seek answers for.
From time to time I hope to offer on this page, helpful resources and insights for LGBT spirituality.
You are blessed. You are cherished. You are part of the One, the Source of All Things. Your contributions to the spiritual life are beautiful and unique. Namaste. Snow Lion Spirit

Based on the novel A Single Man, by Christopher Isherwood, the motion picture, directed and written by Tom Ford, will be a "must see". Opens in theaters Dec. 11th. Watch the trailer below. Great music too.
Set in Los Angeles, at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis, A Single Man, is the story of George Falconer, a 52 year old British college professore (Colin Firth) who is struggling to find meaning to his life after the death of his long time partner, Jim (Matthew Goode). A Single Man, is a romantic tale of love interrupted, the isolation that is an inherent part of the human condition, and ultimately the importance of the seemingly smaller moments in life.

Homeless Youth There are over 1.5 million homeless youth in the U.S. today. That statistic itself is shocking, but did you know that 40 percent of those youth report being Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, or Trans-gender?
A model program exists in New York City, The Ali Forney Center, to help address the needs of homeless LGBT youth. Visit their site by clicking the image below. They also list resources available in other states. Let's not leave anyone out in the cold.
